At happy-hour I order: Rhubarb and ginger gin and elderflower tonic.

 

I love working with clients because: ​They give meaning to the work we do and fuel my motivation for designing.

 

Materials that excite me: CLT / Timber.

I grew up: Barton Upon Humber, North Lincolnshire.

 

Education: Hymers College (from age 8 to18) and BA Architecture at Newcastle University.

 

Notable Accomplishments/awards: Finishing my degree with my sanity still intact.

 

Why Hodson Architects: Hodson Architects gives me the best of both worlds; the atmosphere of a small practice but the satisfaction of seeing huge positive impacts made by the projects.

 

Favourite space: In my own tiny apartment.

 

Architect(s) I admire most: Any architect that wants to make a positive impact on people’s lives and not just earn money or design pretty buildings (in their opinion).

 

A space that has affected me: Cartagena Port Plaza (specifically where ‘The Cache’ and ‘The Whale’s Tail’ sculptures are located.

 

The best gift I ever gave: Any gift that I successfully made someone cry (happy tears of course).

 

Favourite place: Cartagena.

 

Favourite holiday: Any holiday that my 3 siblings and I have all been on.

 

I’m my best self when I’m: With my dog.

 

Quote that guides me right now: Sometimes in the waves of change we find our true direction.

 

Ball point or felt tip: Felt tip.

 

Go-to morning drink: Coffee (milk and two sugars).

 

Something you might not know about me: I nearly decided to follow in my parent’s footsteps and pursue a career in banking/finance. Luckily, I saw sense before it was too late.

 

I always look forward to: Christmas (aka. the final two months of the year)
