Keighley Central Hall
Central Hall, located to the north of Alice Street is one of Keighley's high quality historic buildings and falls within the arts and leisure focus of Keighley's masterplan.
Our proposal uses the building to house Keighley's voluntary services and community organisations including start-up business units. The facilities will be available to the community and will include exhibition space, cafe and catering facilities.
Signage is critical to the long term success of the building. We have proposed a lightweight tower structure that indicates the buildings presence, strengthening its relationship with the town hall, public space and the war memorial whilst recalling Keighley’s built heritage.
The proposals include an integral environmental strategy, utilising cross ventilation, passive solar gain and photovoltaic cells embedded into glazing with planted roofscapes.
Completion November 2010
